Finished with Edits

The edits I’ve been working on for Blood Falls are finished at last. It’s another round of someone else editing my work next, but I finally feel good about the novella. It’s hard to explain what it is about writing that is so difficult. Story isn’t the issue, plot, words. All of that can come together with seeming ease, and yet the story will just feel wrong.

Christopher and Hazel are unique characters, new; their world is one I know well, but how they fit into it and what that meant for them was something that I hadn’t worked out yet. Now I know, and a part of me wants to jump into the next story I am meant to be finishing, but another part of me wants to take the next five days off from writing and make jewelry. I think I’ll do it. I have a unit to finish in a jewelry-making course I am in the process of taking, and sometimes creating something tangible is inspiring all on its own.
